Accutane is a prescription medication used to treat severe cases of acne. The active ingredient, Isotretinoin, basically reduces the production of sebum (the natural oil secreted by the skin).

In general, I do not recommend Accutane. Though it has been proven effective in some severe cases, it is a very powerful drug with a high price and many side-effects. I would consider first a safe, natural alternative.
